The civil society from the Transnistrian area is concerned at the situation of transplanting human organs, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in the area reports. A draft law on organ transplants is considered by the regional parliament. According to it, transplanting organs is allowed only in case other interventions cannot save a patient's life. The donor is to give his/her written consent. The doctors are to warn the donor on the negative consequences on his/her health. The draft has a list of organs that cannot be transplanted as the heart, lung, kidney, liver, and reproduction tissues. The civil society thinks it's too early to adopt such a law in Transnistria. A local consumer rights newspaper writes “today this law will bring more damage than benefits. Innocent people would suffer. If laws were observed by top dignitaries, and the judges were independent from them, the law may be adopted. Yet,to adopt such a law in our conditions is senseless and poses risk on the people,” the publication writes.
