The director of the Foreign Policy Association (APE) Victor Chirila told a news conference that the businesspeople in the Transnistrian region are afraid that the Communists Party (PCRM) could return to power. The fear derives from the former Communist government’s arrogant, non-cooperative and unconstructive attitude, said the expert, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “Some of them said that the dialogue has improved and the relations with the present administration are better than those with the former Communist authorities and they hope things will be maintained,” said the APE director. According to Victor Chirila, the Transnistrian economic entities are afraid that the PCRM would return to power and the frail progress made in the recent past could be annihilated overnight. In the same news conference, APE program director Radu Vrabie said the Republic of Moldova needs consistency and certainty in the steps taken as the previous administration made many mistakes during eight years.
