The Transnistrian delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) continues to behave in a non-constructive and obstructionist way, insisting on the legalization of the checkpoints build up without the authorization of the Commission and with the participation of the Transnistrian law enforcement bodies, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a statement issued by the Moldovan delegation to the JCC.
The third extraordinary meeting of the Commission was attended by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador Philip Remler. The official urged the sides involved in the peacekeeping operation not to take unilateral steps that may generate tensions in the Security Zone.
In the meeting, the Moldovan delegation demanded that the given posts be removed unconditionally from the Security Zone. The discussions lasted for over seven hours, but no compromise solutions could be identified. The fourth round of the extraordinary meeting will take place on October 28.
Earlier this week, the Transnistrian administration set up two border guard and migration posts not far from Pohrebea village and the barrage of the Dubasari power plant, arousing the locals’ dissatisfaction.
