The Transnistrian region is preparing its polling places for the December 12 elections. The voters who will not be in the region on the election day are allowed to mark their ballots beforehand, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the webpage of PMR TV.
The central electoral body of Transnistria recently approved the regulations concerning the elections for the Supreme Soviet. The voters were allowed to vote on December 7 and 8 if they will not be able to cast their votes on December 12. They will have to present a document showing that they will not be present at the polling place on the election day.
Two press centers will be opened on December 12. According to members of the electoral body, they will ensure the quick coverage of the elections.
A representative of the administration of the unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia, who was invited to Tiraspol, said Tuesday that due to the steps taken by the Transnistrian administration the elections will be democratic, fee and fair, and all the international standards will be observed.
