The Transnistrian authorities decided that the mothers will get a lump-sum payment of 1,862 Transnistrian rubles ($1=11.3 Transnistrian rubles) when they give birth to the first child or adopt the first child, either they are employed or not, as of January 1, 2017. As a bonus, the mothers will receive 3,042 Transnistrian rubles for the first child and 3,642 rubles for the second and each next child, IPN reports.

Also, the mothers or fathers are entitled to a monthly childcare allowance up to the child’s age of one year and a half. The employed persons will receive 1,067 Transnistrian rubles, while the unemployed ones, including those who continue studies part-time, will get 776 rubles a month during a year and a half of the birth of the child.

The families with many children who have one or more first-graders can apply for a monthly benefit of 1,130 Transnistrian rubles for each child for purchasing what the children need for school.

In 2017, the minimum old-age pension for a complete insurance period will be 616 Transnistrian rubles.
