The agricultural businesses in the Transnistrian region receive interest-free loans from a local reserve fund that includes the humanitarian assistance provided by Russia, IPN reports.
According to the news agency “Novosti PMR”, the loans are issued for such businesses as animal-breeding, vegetable growing, cultivation and irrigation of land, reuse of agricultural raw material.
The last two projects supported concern the setting up of irrigation systems. The two Transnistrian companies borrowed 7.2 million Russian rubles (about 3m lei) and, respectively, 3.3 million Russian rubles (over 1.2m lei), without interest. Another three companies will be soon granted loans to purchase a depot for keeping fodder and agricultural machinery.
At the start of April, the Transnistrian region’s reserve fund from which loans are provided for developing agricultural businesses totaled over 100 million Russian rubles (about 40m lei).
