A man who purports to be as an opinion leader in Lunga village, the Transnistrian region, is calling on all the citizens of Moldova living east of the Nistru to go out on November 28 and vote for the component parties of the Alliance for European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihail Dirul, has told a press conference on Thursday that on November 28 Moldova has a chance to demonstrate its unity, “A great injustice was committed in 1992 when the people on two banks were separated by tanks and guns. With the installation of Smirnov, everything related to Moldova was destroyed: the schools were Russified, kindergartens were closed, and Moldova was deprived of important industrial facilities”, said Mihail Dirul. Mihail Dirul says that the separatist authorities have been putting pressure on the people, Moldovan citizens, who are willing to vote in the Moldovan elections. In the previous polls, the people were impeded in different ways from traveling to the western bank and vote. However, Mihail Dirul says that the Moldovan authorities are not taking enough measures to protect these people. The man also says he is disappointed by certain electoral statements that all the people east of the Nistru want Russian to be an official language in Moldova, adding that many people in Transnistria still sing the same folk songs and keep the same traditions as anywhere else in Moldova.
