The Transnistrian administration announced that it has salary and pension arrears of almost 400 million rubles (over 400 million lei – e.n.), IPN reports, quoting the Transnistrian press.
In a meeting of the special fund distribution commission, officials in charge said the region’s budget in the first half of this year received slightly over 600 million rubles. Of this amount, only about 500 million can be used to pay social welfare and salaries. A sum of 700 million rubles was allocated for making these payments in the corresponding period last year.
The region’s administration said 1.8 billion rubbles was collected into the budgets of all the levels, but the costs in the period exceeded 2.5 billion rubles. Over 38 million rubles is needed for paying pensions for June, but the pension fund was transferred only 8 million lei.
The region also allocated smaller amounts for purchasing drugs and food in hospitals and residential institutions, fuel and lubricants, etc.
