The separatist Transnistrian authorities didn’t give up staging provocations against Moldova. This is how experts comment on the Transnistrian militia’s attempt to detain a man from Hancesti and a team of journalists who filmed the school year start festivity at the secondary school in Corjova. The issue was discussed in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Former deputy minister of the interior Ghenadie Cosovan considers such cases happen because the Moldovan authorities do not take drastic measures in such situations. “Starting with 1992, those from Tiraspol have provoked us, while we do not react. We did almost nothing to prevent such provocations,” he said.

Political analyst Roman Mihaes said the official Chisinau should be very attentive to such provocations. “A new military conflict with Transnistria would end with the victory of the separatists and the Transnistrization of Moldova. The Moldovan authorities should use the mechanisms they possess. For example, if Yevgheny Shevchuk and Nina Shtanski are banned from using the Chisinau airport for half a year, this will be an efficient lesson for them,” he stated.

Media analyst Cristian Tabara noted that the actions of the Transnistrian separatists are typical of the totalitarian regimes. “Any totalitarian regime feels attacked by any inconvenient journalist. The Shevchuk administration does not differ from the totalitarian regimes,” he said.
