IPN Agency reacted to the concerns expressed by Moldovan society, which fears that the day of May 9 may be used by different circles of interest as a pretext for particular kinds of provocations and for causing destabilization in Moldova. The concerns seem sufficiently justified in the context of the profound regional crisis that affects Moldova too. The given mini-series will present the opinions of representatives of central and local public authorities, of political parties and analysts and the measures by which the possible provocations can be prevented or annihilated.

The Transnistrian administration will hold a number of events to mark the Victory Day on the left bank of the Nistru on May 9. Thus, a military parade will be staged in Tiraspol in the morning of May 9. Russian singers Iosif Kobzon and Veaceslav Butusov will give concerts, IPN reports.

According to the Transnistrian press, the officers at the military parade will march dressed in new uniforms. The military orchestra will diversify its repertoire. The parade will take place in the central square of Tiraspol starting at 9am.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin is expected to come to Tiraspol on May 9. He will visit the projects implemented with the financial support of Russia.

Events to celebrate the Victory Day will also take place in Dubasari town. There will be improvised settings of the war period, where the veterans will relate war memories. An exhibition of objects dating from World War II will be mounted there.

The Transnistrian administration said nothing about possible provocations on this day and about increased security measures. It should be noted that the population in Transnistria marks only Victory Day on May 9. Nothing is said about Europe Day that is celebrated the same day.
