The procedure for the transit of freight trains from and to Ukraine will be simplified. This comes after the Ukrainian parliament ratified relevant amendments to the agreement with Moldova on rail transport.
Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, says the new rules make it possible for trains to transit the Etulia-Reni-Giurgiulesti railway section without having to stop for additional checks.
“It is an important step that will enable a faster transit of goods between Moldova and Ukraine and will boost exports from and to the Danube ports”, noted the minister.
