The children who are receiving long-term treatment at the Oncology Institute will be able to study at a training center that was inaugurated on March 18, IPN reports. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Education, ten teachers will work at the center according to a special program. The center was outfitted with literature and toys by the Ministry and publishing houses.
Attending the inauguration, Minister of Education MaiaSandu said that besides being a place for studies, the center will also ensure a communication environment for the children receiving treatment so that they spend the time pleasantly and do not feel isolated.
The center was set up by Moldova’s National Commission for UNESCOand the Oncology Institute, with the assistance of the Ministry of Educating, the Health Ministry and the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. The Austrian Development Agency, the Austrian NGO HOPE’ 87, the Vienna-based children’s hospital “Saint Ana”, the Romanian oncology hospital “LuisaTurcanu”, and the Foundation GIGAX also offered financial support.
