The increase in train fares has been coordinated by the Public Property Agency but still needs to be confirmed by the Moldovan Railways (CFM).

When contacted by IPN, APP spokesperson Ghenadie Vasilache stated that reports about ticket prices for the Chisinau-Ungheni route rising to 169 lei were taken out of context. The document approved by the Public Property Agency allows for a price increase up to 169 lei, but only for the longest journeys, such as from Briceni to Cahul.

For the Chisinau-Ungheni route, the fare is expected to rise to 61 lei, but only if CFM confirms these increases, Vasilache clarified.

The fare adjustments will apply only to domestic routes and will depend on the type of carriage and travel distance.

Currently, the ticket price for the Chisinau-Ungheni train route is 27 lei.
