Romanian President Traian Basescu sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Chisinau’s Day. In the message, which was disseminated by the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau, Traian Basescu wishes the Chisinau administration all the best and thanks it for the invitation to come to Chisinau to take part in the festivities, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The message says that the community in Chisinau is living a period of joy and hope. “The City’s Day, when the local traditions and values are celebrated, is a symbol of communion and responsibility that marks 20 years of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence. Every commemoration of the past keeps us together by the language, history and spirituality we share. At the same time, the respect for our common history is a premise for a mature and solid reflection on the future that we can build together, in Europe,” said Traian Basescu.
“I’m convinced that despite the economic difficulties we all go through, we will be able to praise the Christian model of a fulfilled man that Saint Marry, who protects Chisinau, gives each of us on this day,” reads the message.
