Traffic on Pan Halippa Street restricted during repairs

Municipal authorities decided not to stop the traffic on Pan Halippa Street from Center district of the capital during the whole repairing works period. According to the interim head of the Construction Department (DCC), Tudor Gnaciuc, in order not to affect passengers’ transportation traffic in Telecentru district, the street will be closed only when trolleybus lines will be removed and engineer network will be replaced along it. According to him, cars’ access on this street could be blocked starting June. Now there are operated demolishing works of additional constructions on the sequence between the headquarters of the Ministry of Health and street A. Mateevici. Finishing of the reconstruction of the street Pan Halippa on the sequence between the Ministry of Health and the A. Mateevici is planned for the end of August 2006. In the new version, the street will have 6 traffic lanes – three towards Telecentru and three towards Centru district. Now, on Pan Halippa Street there is only one way, towards Centru. In Chisinau’ development project, 27 million lei are planned for the reconstruction of Pan Halippa street, even if the municipality estimated the costs of the works at 50 million lei.
