Anticorruption officers arrested a man who owns a number of stalls on the Chisinau Central Market for traffic of influence. He asked for €6,000 from a person for influencing the administration of the Central Market to hasten the signing of a contract for the lease of a stall, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Anticorruption Center’s press service says the man is investigated outside prison. €1,000 of the €6,000 was to be transferred to the market’s administration, while the rest of the sum was for the suspect. During the arrest, €1,000 was discovered in a pocket of the man’s clothes. The man was taking the money to the market’s administration for putting the stamp on the lease. The other €5,000 was found in the bag of the man’s wife, who yielded the money voluntarily. A number of persons, including from the administration of the Central Market, have been questioned so far in the legal case started over traffic of influence.
