Traffic lights with intermittent green to reappear in Chisinau

Stoplights with intermittent green will appear at intersections again. The installation of such traffic lights started in July, but was suspended in several weeks because such a move wasn’t specified in the road traffic regulations. After the Government made the relevant amendments, the mayor general ordered resuming setting up such traffic lights, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The traffic lights signals that were set up at the intersections in the municipality of Chisinau and had been disconnected for 3-4 months must be reconnected immediately. More such signals should be set up at the other intersections in order to fluidize traffic,” Dorin Chirtoaca said on Monday. Last weekend, the Government approved amendments to the road traffic regulations, allowing placing an additional signal to the traffic lights – a green arrow pointing to the right on a black background. Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu said the new signal will enable the drivers to continue moving in the direction indicated by the arrow when the traffic lights show red.
