During October 12-18, Shopping MallDova invites the Chisinau residents to discover the beauty of traditions connected with holidays celebrated within this period – the Day of Chisinau and the National Wine Day. Mall visitors are awaited with dishes and wine, popular music and dances, artisan exhibition, book fair, honey and fresh strawberries – all prepared and presented by Moldovan goodmen and craftsmen, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release from the shopping center.
Throughout the week, the National Craftsmen Union of Moldova will hold a handcraft fair where visitors will not only see the exhibits, but will also be able to participate in their making. The exhibition brings together over 35 national craftsmen representing a number of traditional crafts like
pottery, embroidery, knitting, vegetal fiber plaiting, wood sculpture, jewelry, floristry etc.
Exhibition organizers will also present various embroidered clothing (peasant blouses, kerchiefs, towels etc.), laying emphasis on the national costume. Visitors will be able to see and buy puppets, leather bags and flower arrangements.
Every day, admirers of popular crafts will be able to attend master classes on various crafts and personally participate in clay modeling, leather processing, traditional jewelry making, vegetal fiber plaiting, embroidery and knitting works.
“By organizing this fair at Shopping MallDova we wish to present the beauty of age-old traditions and customs of our ancestors and inspire love for the precious legacy of our people”, said Maria Cristea, vice president of the National Craftsmen Union of Moldova.
All guests could taste new wine produced from this fall’s yield. Acorex Wine and Purcari wineries invite visitors of Shopping MallDova to appreciate the quality and taste of wines from the best vineyards in Moldova. Wine tasting will be supplemented by samples of culinary traditions of the mall restaurants: Mykonos, Sim Sim, Robert’s Coffee, Molly Potato, Bier Platz, which will indulge guests with dishes specially prepared on this week’s holidays.
No holiday can take place without popular songs and dances. Osoianu sisters, singer Doina Sulac, Popular Music Ensemble “Crenguta de Edera”, “Doremici” band, Popular Dance Ensemble “Speranta” and Ethno-folk Group “Edera” will perform at Shopping MallDova every day, from October 13.
At the mall’s ground floor, Cartier Publishing House opens a fair of books published in Moldova. “We are coming with good books for all Malldova. For the first time we will present “Icoane” by Nikodim Kondakov, in exceptional printing and at a promotional price. Also, between October 12 and 18 we will offer 20% discounts on Cartier books presented at the fair at Shopping MallDova”, said Carolina Rautskii, PR Manager of Cartier Publishing House.
On October 14, the little visitors of the mall are invited to participate in a drawing contest titled “Chisinau through Children's Eyes”. The contest is supported by Diverta shop. Children’s works will be on display in the mall till the end of the Traditions in MallDova Week.
