Trademark of the Year winners awarded

About 90 trademarks were distinguished at the 2011 Trademark of the Year contest, a key event as part of the national Made in Moldova exhibition, Info-Prim Neo reports. The winners were selected by the contest's organizational commission based on consumer opinions collected in two polls, one conducted in the summer of 2011 and another one in January 2012. “These are trademarks of products and services from well-known companies that have been operating on the Moldovan markets for many years, as well as trademarks that were launched several years ago or even in 2011 and which proved their quality”, stated Gheorghe Cucu, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the awards ceremony on Thursday. Also attending the ceremony, acting President Marian Lupu noted that a recognized trademark represents not only the efforts made by a company, or the professional ambition of its managers, but also an instrument to promote Moldova's reputation abroad. The awards were offered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Intellectual Property Agency at a ceremony on Thursday evening. In 2003-2010 the competition involved 800 trademarks from 15 districts and the municipalities of Balti and Chisinau.
