The land used for farming could be used for developing rural tourism. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry proposed for debates a bill to amend the Land Code. The main amendment allows using the farmland for tourism without changing its purpose, IPN reports.

Thus, the farmland owners will be able to set up agri-tourist pensions on this land if they had farmed for at least five years.

The bill provides that the losses sustained by the owners by not using the farmland for its purpose or by leasing out this land for other purposes than for farming will be fully covered by the interested private individuals and legal entities.
