Tourism and accounting are most popular specialties in colleges

During the first stage of the admission session at colleges, there were submitted 10,797 applications for the 8,355 places available. A number of 1,165 places remained unfilled, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Education.

The most popular specialties are: tourism (3 applications per place); accounting (2.5 applications per place); general medicine (2.4 applications per place); services (2.4 applications per place); pharmaceutics (2.2 applications per place); preschool teaching (2.2 applications per place); informatics (2.1 applications per place).

The largest number of applications was submitted to the National College of Medicine and Pharmaceutics, the Chisinau Teacher Training College “A. Mateevici”, the College of Informatics, the National Trade College of the Academy of Economic Studies, the Financial-Banking College, the Balti Polytechnic College. The fewest applications were filed to the Agricultural College, the Hancesti Construction College, and the Chisinau Technical College.

The second admission stage will take place between August 5 and 8. The results will be announced by August 10.

As many as 39 state colleges and 4 private ones have enrolled students this year.
