The Top Prize of the sixth edition of the contest-festival “Two Twin Hearts”, the Children division, went to Valeria Tarasova from Balti municipality, Moldova. At the Adults division, the Top Prize was won by Ana Cernicova from Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Ana Cernicova is a second-year student at the Music College “Stefan Neaga”. “I don’t yet understand what’s happened. I was impressed when I heard my name and I’m very proud and happy,” Ana said.
Valeria Tarasova said it was a stiff competition because the opponents were worthy. “I’m overwhelmed as this is a very important prize to me. This is my first trophy for the song ‘Forgiveness’”.
The jury said it was hard for them to choose the winners of the competition. Jury president Mihai Munteanu has told Info-Prim Neo that the two contest evenings were a real feast and holiday. “The songs of the departed Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, which are unfortunately more seldom broadcast on the radio and TV, were performed in a special manner. It was a great joy for me that the little singers felt at ease and, dressed in beautiful costumes, performed extraordinarily. It is great that many foreign singers sang the songs of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici admirably and will disseminate them tin their native countries. The participants were well-prepared and the jury had a difficult task. But these are the rules of the contest: somebody wins and somebody loses. It is wonderful that the Top Prizes at the at the Children and Adults divisions remained in Moldova this year,” Mihai Munteanu said.
Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici, head of the Two Twin Hearts Foundation, president of the festival and the son of the two late singers, said that it was a difficult competition, but he is satisfied in principle. “It was an interesting festival, with special arrangements made by the contenders. It is more and more difficult to organize the festival. I don’t know why but many people refuse to cooperate with us in the organization of the festival. Yet, the music of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici must be preserved. Without this competition, they and their music will be quickly forgotten. I’m glad that a large part of the participants like the creation of my parents and sing their songs. We plan to introduce something new and special next year. We did not manage to carry out many plans this year for financial reasons, but I hope that next year we will bring an orchestra that will sing live,” Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici said.
The first position at the Children division was taken by Doina Istrati from Calarasi, Moldova; the second position – by Anastasia Ivka from Riga, Latvia; the third position – by Veaceslav Basiul from the Russian town of Hanty-Mansiisk and Iva Angheliceva from Bulgaria.
The winners at the Adults division are: Mihaela Tinkova Fileva from Bulgaria – the first position; Vladimir Ciobanu from Chisinau, Moldova, and Cristina Naumenco from Riga, Latvia - the second position; Andrei Shumak from Minsk, Belarus, Adriana Rusu from Iasi, Romania, and Janis Strapcans from Riga, Latvia – the third position.
Thirty-five singers from 10 countries took part in the sixth festival-contest in memory of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici. The competition was held on November 13 and 14, while the Laureate Gala – on November 15, the day when Doina was born.
