Top-performing state-owned enterprises in 2024

The Public Property Agency (APP) has released the revenue figures for the top five state-owned enterprises and seven joint-stock companies with state capital for 2024. The total turnover of these 12 entities decreased by 143.6 million lei, reaching 31.4 billion lei. However, their profit increased by over 832.1 million lei, from 770.3 million to 1.6 billion lei, IPN reports.

According to preliminary APP data, the top-performing state-owned enterprises are: Chisinau International Airport, Nordul Hidroelectrica Costesti, Posta Moldovei, Ungheni River Port, Moldatsa.

The best-performing joint-stock companies with state capital are: Energocom, The National Lottery of Moldova, Moldtelecom, Northern Electricity Distribution Networks (RED Nord), CET Nord, Franzeluta, Cricova Wine Complex.

Chisinau International Airport, which was returned to state ownership in March 2023, recorded a profit of 336 million lei. Posta Moldovei achieved a profit of nearly 66 million lei, compared to 23 million in the previous year. Moldatsa saw its profit grow from 22.1 million to 29.5 million lei. Meanwhile, the Franzeluța bakery complex managed to increase its profit from 20.4 million to 44.2 million lei.

The most significant financial turnaround was recorded by Energocom, which posted a profit of 858.1 million lei after reporting losses of over 127 million lei in 2023. The National Lottery of Moldova recorded a profit of 276.8 million lei, Moldtelecom – 159.8 million lei, and RED Nord – 146.6 million lei.

The largest contributions to the state budget came from the National Lottery of Moldova (138.3 million lei) and Chisinau International Airport (105.6 million lei).
