Introducing the European course in the Constitution, continuing the implementation of Moldova’s European integration plan and the government party taking upon itself the role of defender of the European course are among the most important political events of 2017, according to a ranking published by the Center for Electoral Technologies, IPN reports.

Sharing the top spot is the improvement of the relationship with the IMF, the EU and the support for the reform process from the EU and the US.

The second spot is taken by Dmitri Rogozin being declared persona non grata in Moldova. The third place is the amendment of the Electoral Code and the implementation of the mixed voting system.

The arrest of mayor Dorin Chirtoaca comes in fourth, while the failed referendum to sack him ranks fifth.

The creation of a coalition of political forces that tried to put pressure on the government is seen as the sixth most important event.

The temporary suspension of the President in order to appoint the Minister of Defense took the seventh place, followed by the creation of the electoral bloc between PAS and PPDA and their entrance in the EPP.

The reform of the central public administration and the government reshuffling ranks ninth and the progress in the settlement of the Transnistrian issue rounds up the top 10 political events of the year.
