Eighteen applicants have been registered until the last day of the deadline for submitting applications for participating in the Eurovision 2014 national preselection. The list will be made public after January 23. Sources in the Eurovision Center have told IPN that the applicants are mostly new names. Among the applicants who are known are the band “Paralela 47” and singer Sasa Bognibov.
Under the regulations, singers and bands can submit applications to the Eurovision Center located at 1 Miorita St by January 23. The competing songs must have been launched after September 1, 2013. The applicants must be citizens of Moldova, but cooperation with foreign lyricists/composers is allowed.
The competitors will be selected in three stages: internal examination of the songs, live performance and national final that will take place on March 15. The final will be preceded by two semifinals, on March 11 and 13. They will be broadcast live on Moldova 1 and Radio Moldova.
Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on May 10.
