The prices of tomatoes at the market decreased by over 5 lei compared with a week before. One kilogram of tomatoes can be bought for 12 lei. The price of 1 kg of cucumbers is 5-6 lei. Potatoes, early cabbage and vegetable marrows are sold for 5 lei/kg and up, IPN reports.
Eggplants cost 15 to 20 lei per kilogram, bell peppers 9-10 lei, pods 10-12 lei, while the price of a bunch of dill, parsley or green onion tops remains 2 lei.
Strawberries and cherries disappeared from stalls. Apricots are sold for 9 lei per kg, plums for 10 lei, while raspberries and gooseberries for 20 lei per kg.
One kilogram of black, red and white currants costs 25 to 35 lei, while tart cherries are sold for 15-20 lei/kg.
Watermelons are sold for 6-7 lei/kg, while melons for 15 lei. A cob with corn can be bought for 7-8 lei apiece.
Ten eggs cost 12 lei. Pork is sold for 65 lei/kg, beef for 70-75 lei/kg, ewe’s cheese for 65 lei, cow cheese for 40-50 lei, sour cream for 35 lei, while butter for 80 lei.
