The Tiraspol administration is proposing that Chisinau send a joint appeal to Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible, asking them to ensure the delivery and transit of gas to the Transnistrian region, part of which is needed to supply Moldova with electricity, IPN reports, referring to the appeal by the so-called Tiraspol foreign ministry.
Tiraspol accuses Chisinau of speculations and declarations instead of taking effective action on the issue of energy security: "Chisinau has not taken adequate practical measures to establish agreements with the Russian Federation and Ukraine that would allow gas deliveries to be realized and thus ensure energy security", the statement of the so-called Tiraspol foreign ministry says.
According to the Transnistrian administration, preventing a humanitarian crisis and the negative impact on the population in winter is a common priority for all participants involved in the Transnistrian settlement process, which is also an important contribution to maintaining stability in the region, where an exceptional situation in the economy has been established.
