Communist MP Mark Tkaciuk has told a news conference on Saturday that the Security and Intelligence Service and the Prosecutor General's Office are conspiring a “large-scale slandering campaign” against the Communist Party, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mark Tkaciuk says the conspiracy is related to the April 2009 events, claiming that the two agencies pressure some persons who were actively involved in those events into signing testimonies which say that they acted at the Communists' order. Tkaciuk says he was contacted through a social network by a member of the New Right organization, who gave him records of interrogations carried out by prosecutors. Moreover, Tkaciuk claimed that the law enforcement bodies were planning to plant instigators among Communist supporters during protest rallies that they intend to hold in the near future. “This is verified information. Obviously it influenced our decision to delay our protest activities. These things, which are fabricated in police basements and can soon reach the press, are yet another proof of the crimes committed by the current regime. With this they are trying to conceal other crimes, like the April events, when a coup was attempted”, declared Mark Tkaciuk.
