Moldova’s place is in the European Union and the Moldovan politicians must make sure that this place is reached, Romanian senator Titus Corlatean said in an interview for the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
“The citizens of the Republic of Moldova deserve to live in the European Union so as to enjoy better living conditions. The Republic of Moldova is no longer as it was several years ago. The Republic of Moldova is an associate partner of the EU,” stated the politician.
Titus Corlatean noted that the relations between Chisinau and Bucharest developed a lot in these years. “The Moldovan-Romanian relationship developed so deep roots that it should yield fruit regardless of the ruling political class. Beyond the spiritual relations, Romania became the main economic and commercial partner of the Republic of Moldova,” he said.
The Romanian senator expressed his regret at the fact that nothing is said about Moldova in the new program of the Government of Romania led by Dacian Ciolos. “I hope it is an omission. Victor Ponta did a lot for the Republic of Moldova and I hope that the Ciolos Government will continue in the same way,” he stated.
