The Transnistrian administration has worked out a plan for overcoming the crisis faced by the Transnistrian region. Among others, the plan provides for the institution of tax amnesty in a bid to help the companies keep the workplaces and create new jobs, IPN reports.

The local press reported that 76 million Transnistrian rubles was collected into the region’s budget in February, by 8 million rubles less than in January. However, at least 135 million rubbles is needed to pay all the social benefits.

Tiraspol already announced that the pensions and salaries in March will be paid in proportion of at most 70%. The other part will remain in the form of a debt that will be cleared when the crisis is overcome. However, the local authorities in Bender have salary arrears for January yet.

According to statistics, the region’s exports in the first two months of this year fell by 25%, while imports – by 20% compared with the corresponding period last year. The plan for overcoming the crisis envisions the facilitation of obtaining phytosanitary certificates and of the sanitary inspection procedures.

The region’s population already expresses dissatisfaction with the adopted austerity policy. At the end of last week, about 300 people from different settlements of Transnistria mounted a protest in Tiraspol.
