The mayor of Tiraspol Oleg Dovgopol was arrested on Friday due to the disagreements that he allegedly had with the so-called leader of the region Vadim Krasnoselsky, sources in Tiraspol have told IPN.
Contradictions that are economic in nature allegedly exist between the two officials, said the sources from the mayor’s office. They explained for the Agency that "Dovgopol's arrest was not officially announced, but they admitted the hypothesis of economic disagreements and, respectively, it is not a global issue, but a purely technical one." Meanwhile, "an interim mayor has already been appointed in Tiraspol," the quoted source said.
Representatives of the Transnistrian militia confirmed the information that "mayor Oleg Dovgopol was detained on Friday due to direct disagreements with the leader of the Transnistrian region Vadim Krasnoselsky."
