The Transnistrian administration will try and persuade owners from Bychok village to sell their land to “Comitetul Vamal rmn” (“Transnistrian Customs Committee”) so as to build the infrastructure of a new “international customs terminal” on the land that will be purchased. Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) said this fact was confirmed by the Commission’s co-chairman Oleg Beleakov. In this connection, the Moldovan side warned the members of the JCC about the inadmissibility of these destabilizing acts of Tiraspol, IPN reports.

In a press release, Moldova’s delegation said such terminals usually include border guard and customs check areas, an administrative building with barrier infrastructure, traffic signs and road markings that are all covered with an awning. It is also planned to build a customs quarter for serving large trucks transporting goods in the clearance process.

The building works were planned by the Transnistrian administration unilaterally, without coordinating them with the Joint Control Commission. This way there was ignored the decision of January 31 this year taken by experts in transport and road infrastructure in a joint meeting. Under this decision, only the vehicles with the capacity of up to ten tonnes can cross the bridge over the Nistru, which is situated near Gura-Bicului and Bychok.

The delegation also said that the concerns and arguments started by it were supported by the Russia co-chairman Ilia Uvarov, who repeatedly urged to identify an amicable solution to the problem of reopening of circulation on this bridge.

At the same time, Moldova’s delegation issued a statement by which it expresses its concern about the reasons for the blocking of the JCC decisions concerning the reopening of circulation on the Gura-Bicului and Bychok bridge by the Transnistrian component.
