Tiraspol bought trolleybuses from Minsk at a slightly cheaper price than Chisinau. The difference is of several thousand euros per unit, according to data provided by the Transnistrian authorities. However, the figures are questioned by Chisinau. The head of the Tiraspol administration’s division of trade, transport and foreign relations Eduard Gutul told Info-Prim Neo that Tiraspol bought 12 trolleybuses from the Belarus factory at €120,000 per unit. However, Chisinau Trolleybus Company head Gheorghe Morgoci told Info-Prim Neo that the price of €120,000 is pure speculation and that a new trolleybus costs about €150,000. The Chisinau Municipality bought 102 trolleybuses from the Minsk-based factory Belkommunmash for a total of about €13.7 million. This summer, Chisinau started to assemble its own trolleybuses using parts bought from Minsk, saving €10,000 per unit, according to Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca.
