The so-called minister of foreign affairs of the Transnistria region Nina Shtansky considers that the mutual recognition of documents issued on the both banks of the Nistru is the key element in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict, Info-Prim Neo learned from www.nr2.ru. Nina Shtansky said that the lack of mutual recognition of papers hinders the free movement of people between the two banks and the owners of cars registered on the left side of the Nistru found it the most difficult. Because of unrecognized car plates, they can’t leave Transnistria through Moldova or go to Ukraine. “The issue of mutual recognition of documents will be solved when we find a consensus and realize we need to recognize the papers issued on both sides”, stated Shtansky. The so-called minister of foreign affairs said that Moldova and the Transnistrian region had signed an agreement regarding the regulation of this issue in the spring of 2001. “Experts, diplomats and representatives of political parties reached an agreement on this issue. Today, we have to reactivate those stipulations, but also to update them”, said Shtansky. A new round of negotiations on the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict will begin in September 2012 in Vienna, where a paper will be signed in continuation of the bilateral agreement of 2001.
