The amber security alert in the Transnistrian region has been extended. Under a decree issued by the de facto leader Transnistria, the alert will be valid until September 6.
At the end of April, the Transnistrian administration first introduced a red alert after a series of explosions that occurred in the region. A month later, the alert level was downgraded to amber.
Among the introduced measures are the requirement to register citizens when moving through checkpoints set up by Tiraspol, and heightened inspections of vehicles entering or leaving the region, and of those located in railway stations.
