Chisinau accuses Tiraspol of not respecting the principles of peaceful settlement of the conflict. The accusations were made after the police officers from Bender were banned from wearing uniforms in the town and after an announcement was made that the Moldovan penitentiaries will be disconnected from the water and power supplies, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Reintegration Office, the principles of peaceful resolution of the dispute stipulate that the public order in Bender is ensured by the Joint Control Commission, in concert with the police and the militia. Chisinau describes the actions taken by the administration of Bender town as an attempt to exert pressure on the people and the Moldovan institutions situated in the Transnistrian region.

In order to prevent the situation from worsening, Chisinau calls on the representatives of the Transnistrian administration to stop taking unilateral actions, aimed at destabilizing the situation in the Security Zone. It also calls upon the foreign partners involved in the talks in the 5+2 format to closely monitor the developments and to facilitate the identification of solutions that would enable to remedy the situation, it is said in the communiqué.
