The National Unity Party’s candidate for President Octavian Țîcu could be under No. 7 on the ballot for the presidential election, while the candidate of the UNION Electoral Bloc Dorin Chirtoacă under No. 8, IPN reports.
The draw was held on September 29, when both of the aspirants submitted the lists with signatures in their support to the CEC.
The documents and subscription lists are to be verified during seven days. The CEC will then decide whether to register the candidates or not.
Five electoral contenders have been registered so far: Renato Usatyi of the Our Party; Andrei Năstase of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”; Tudor Deliu of the Liberal Democratic Party, incumbent President Igor Dodon, and the Shor Party’s candidate Violeta Ivanov.
The period for submitting documents for registering candidates for President ends on October 1.
