MP Octavian Țîcu, the president of the National Unity Party, said he will abstain or will even leave the Parliament’s assembly hall when the Government led by Natalia Gavrilița will ask for a vote of confidence as he considers President Maia Sandu’s decision to nominate a candidate for Prime Minister and her call not to support this Government in Parliament represent clownery, IPN reports.

“I will probably abstain or will even leave when this circus I consider absolutely unserious and disrespectful for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova starts. Consequently, I will not take part in this farce,” Octavian Țîcu stated in the talk show “Fourth power” on N4 channel.

The MP noted the first attempt to vote in the Government could fail, by Igor Dodon could later form an official majority that would propose and support a candidate for Prime Minister.

“The Socialists, the Shor Party, the PDM and Pro Moldova are not interested in having snap parliamentary elections. Only those from the PAS, Usatyi’s party and we, the National Unity Party, want such elections as we consider we have the capacity and possibility to enter the future Parliament with a unionist group,” stated Octavian Țîcu.

He criticized the policy pursued by Maia Sandu after her investiture as President and accused her of transforming her victory in the presidential elections into the Party of Action and Solidarity’s success at a time when this is the victory of the whole pro-European segment.

“Maia Sandu’s mistake is that she transformed the presidential administration into a supply chain of the PAS. The Supreme Security Council should have probably included also other people. More people, representatives of all the political parties should be consulted in the process of forming this Government. Then, this masquerade wouldn’t look like Ping-Pong between Maia Sandu and Igor Dodon. These two persons haven’t yet finished the election campaign,” stated Octavian Țîcu.

According to him, if snap parliamentary elections are called, an ACUM Plus bloc consisting of the PAS, PPPDA and PUN should be formed.
