Three young people risk up to 20 years imprisonment for money forging

Three young men from the capital risk up to 20 years imprisonment for forging national currency. According to the Press Service of the General Police Station, two brothers aged 18 and 20, and one of their friends, aged 20, found a very original procedure to forge money. They were removing the original dye from the banknotes of 10 lei and then printing bills of 50 lei, using chemicals. The youngsters managed this way to forge about 5,000 lei, being caught in the act, in an apartment rented on Drumul Viilor Street, by the officers of Rascani district of Chisinau municipality. The policemen noted that the forged money had a very high quality, and due to this the forged banknotes were not significantly different from original ones. According to the legislation in force, the punishment for forging and introducing forged money into circulation is of 10 to 20 years imprisonment.
