A child aged three and his 46-year-old grandmother died in a house fire in Șofrâncani village of Edineț district last night.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Edineț Police Inspectorate Svetlana Talpă said the police were notified of the fire by the mayor of the village. The specialized services were dispatched to the scene immediately. The carbonized body of the female house owner aged 64 and her grandson aged three were found as a result of inspections.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said that a firefighting team was on the scene immediately. The flames had fully engulfed the house by then. The fire was localized in an hour and was fully put out in almost eight hours.
The circumstances and cause of fire are yet to be found out.
