The passports of the Republic of Moldova with the extended period of validity can be used only in the states that confirmed the recognition of the Moldovan authorities’ decision. Until now confirmation through diplomatic channels was received from Latvia, Israel and the Russian Federation, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration notified the foreign authorities of the decision to extend the validity of passports and asked to recognize these travel documents as valid. “The diplomatic and consular missions continue to make approaches to obtain their consent for operationalizing the decision of the Commission for Exceptional Situations. For obtaining updated information about the list of states that accepted the decision to extend the period of validity of passports of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, we recommend to follow the official communication channels of the Ministry,” runs a press release of the institution.
As from June 1, the period of validity of the passports of citizens of the Republic of Moldova that expired or will expire before December 31, 2022 is extended until June 30, 2023.
