The Romanian financing was used to renovate the Radiology and Imagistics Section, the Functional Diagnostic Section and the Endoscopic Section. The works form part of the project to renovate and outfit the Maternity Hospital and the Pediatric Department of the Public Medical-Sanitary Institution “Mother and Child Institute”.
The works planned to be carried out within the project, which benefits from grants totaling €2.5 million, began at the start of 2015.
About 25,000 radiological examinations, 900 computed tomography scans and tens of thousands of thorax scans are annually performed in the Radiology and Imagistics Section. The Functional Diagnostic Section has five offices for examining patients admitted to the hospital and, partially, children and women who go to the polyclinic. About 20,000 examinations are yearly performed there. The Endoscopic Section founded in 1980 yearly ensures over 4,000 examinations, 500 of which are curative.
