Three persons, including a minor, perish in road accidents

Three people lost their lives in three road accidents that occurred over the weekend. The General Police Inspectorate said the victims are a 17-year-old teenager, a 29-year-old man and a 55-year-old man, IPN reports.

The man aged 29 lost control of the steering wheel and drove his car into a tree on Studenților St. Following the impact, the driver died on the spot.

Another accident occurred on the Chisinau-Leușeni road. A 34-year-old man, who was driving at excessive speed, crashed into the back of another car. Its driver, a 55-year-old man, died. Three other people were rushed to the hospital. The young man who is allegedly to blame for the accident refused to be tested with the Dräger device.

Another accident occurred in Zgărdești village of Telenești district. The driver, a 20-year-old man, was traveling on a country road outside the village. At one point, he lost control of the steering wheel and the car overturned. The passenger, a 17-year-old minor, did not survive. The driver was tested with a breathalyzer and the result indicated a concentration of 0.14 mg/l of alcohol in the exhaled air.

Criminal proceedings were initiated on all cases to establish all the circumstances.

In the same period, a 31-year-old man person drowned in the lake in “Valea Trandafirilor” Park in the capital city. Rescuers and divers of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations carried out underwater searches. The man was found the next morning.

The rescuers repeatedly warn the citizens to comply with the rules of conduct when swimming and to go swimming only in specially designed places equipped with rescue stations. The population is warned to avoid swimming at night, but also after consuming alcoholic beverages.
