Three pedestrians injured in road accidents in Chisinau

Three pedestrians, including a minor, were injured in road accidents on Thursday, 24 January, in Chisinau.
Ion Roscovanu, Road Safety Inspector of the Chisinau Traffic Police, told Info-Prim Neo that two of the injured pedestrians, including the child, sustained severe traumas. At approximately 8 AM, the 10-year-old boy, fourth grader at Constantin Berezovschi School, was hit on Igor Vieru Street by a Mazda-626 car, driven by a 34-year-old man. The child was admitted to Valentin Ignatenco hospital with a head trauma and other bodily injuries.
A 21-year-old woman, student at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Film was hospitalised with arm fracture. The girl was hit by a Volkswagen T-4 vehicle, operated by a 31-year old man, at the intersection of the streets Mihail Kogalniceanu and Puskin.
On Chisinau-Straseni route, a VAZ-2103 ran into a drunk man aged 40 at the entrance to Cojusna village. The victim was admitted to the Emergency Hospital with a cranial injury and brain concussion.
Besides these 3 road accidents, other 19 victimless accidents occurred on Thursday. Traffic agents fined 8 drivers for drunk-driving, 124 for speeding and 66 for neglecting traffic lights. A total of 602 violations of traffic rules were registered during the day.
