The formation of a center-right alliance is the only acceptable solution at the moment. The three parties – the PLDM, PDM and PL – embody our hope for the future owing to the people’s votes, the head of the Civic Forum “Pro Europa” Val Butnaru said in a rally in support of the restoration of the Alliance for European Integration held on December 12, Info-Prim Neo reports. “If we came here it means that we care,” Val Butnaru, who heads Jurnal Trust Media, told the people who gathered in front of the National Opera House. According to the organizers, about 2,000 took part in the rally. The meeting approved a resolution whereby those attending expressed their concern about the possibility that there will be formed a center-left alliance and called on the PLDM, PDM and PL to continue to cooperate within the Alliance for European Integration. Otherwise, “Pro Europa” reserved the right to stage protests, people’s assemblies, strikes, etc. The head of the Association “Moldova Europeana Unita” (“United European Moldova”) Roman Mihaes, who is the Forum’s secretary, stressed that some of the politicians do not want to respect the vote of the people who supported the Alliance for European Integration. The resolution approved at the meeting will be submitted to the leaders of the three Liberal-Democratic parties. “We will stay here in the cold until you agree to form this Alliance for European Integration,” said Sandu Grecu, director of the Theater “Satiricus. Ion Luca Caragiale”. The rally was attended by persons of different ages. Ion Mitrofan, 73, voiced hope that the protesters’ message will reach the politicians. Iulia Crumeza, 70, said the people have the greatest power and expressed her confidence that the rally will achieve the result they want. Dumitru, 17, said the participation in the protest was for him a way of showing patriotism. Mihai Cristea, councilor of Radeni village, said that last year the governing alliance made progress and should continue its path. The Civic Forum “Pro Europa” brings together nongovernmental organizations and personalities from culture, arts and other areas that support the European integration and Moldova’s democratization and modernization. If the decision to form the ruling alliance is not announced soon, a new rally will be held on Sunday.
