Three participants in the January 2016 protest against the investiture of the Filip Government were acquitted by the Chisinau City Court on January 27, IPN reports.
Under the judgment, Vrej Martirosian, who was accused of organization or management of public disorder was acquitted for the reason that the deed does not contain elements of an offense. Aureliu Pisică and Oleg Sîrbu were also acquitted for the reason that there are other circumstances that exclude prosecution.
By the same judgment, another participant in the protest, Feodor Cioina, was found guilty of organizing or managing public disorder, being sentenced to three years and six months in jail. He was yet put on probation for a two-year period. The man was banned from leaving the country.
The sentence can be challenged in the Appeals Court within 15 days.
