The Central Election Commission (CEC) on June 4 registered the candidates and electoral symbols of the Party of Development and Union of Moldova (PDCM), the Political Party “Alliance for the Union of Romanians” (AUR) and of the Political Party “NOI” (“WE”) for competing in the July 11 snap parliamentary elections, IPN reports.
PDCM president Ion Chicu said his party will conduct a correct campaign during which they will debate the real problems of the people and the country.
For his part, AUR president Vlad Biletski welcomed the CEC’s decision, saying the AUR crossed the Prut to show a different type of politics and to unite the pro-Romanian forces in the Republic of Moldova.
Fourteen election contenders have been registered so far:
“Building Europe at Home” Party;
Common Action Civic Congress Party;
Electoral Bloc “Renato Usatîi”;
Shor Party;
Party of Action and Solidarity;
Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists;
Professional Movement “Speranţa – Nadejda”;
Democratic Party;
Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”;
National Unity Party;
Party “Democracy at Home”;
Political Party “NOI”;
Party of Development and Union of Moldova;
Political Party “Alliance for the Union of Romanians”
The files of another two applicants are being examined. The deadline for submissions is June 11.
