A child aged three months died in a traffic accident at the intersection of Dacia Blvd and Trandafirilor St in Chisinau in the morning of July 2. Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati has told IPN that the 24-year-old driver who was the child’s father lost control of the car and crashed this into a utility pole.
As a result, the driver’s wife aged 18 and the couple’s girl aged three months, who were on the back seat, were rushed to the Mother and Child Institute. The woman suffered a number of traumas, but her life is out of danger. The child could not be saved.
The driver was also hospitalized. Blood samples were taken from him to see if he was under the influence of alcohol. The police took legal action to establish all the circumstances of the accident.
A child aged several months and another one of almost a year died in two similar road accidents a month ago. The cars were driven by children’s fathers.
