Three men, members of a criminal group, are charged with illegal purchase, storage and trade of firearms and ammo. The prosecutors sent the file to the Causeni District Court for examination, Info-Prim Neo reports. Prosecutor Lilian Cociu of the section for prosecution of exceptional causes of the Prosecutor General’s Office, told the press on Monday, November 27, that the three men were aged between 28 and 53, one from Causeni district and the other two from Transnistria. They were caught red-handed in the house of the man from Causeni while trading some ammo. The law enforcement agents suspect that the guns and the ammo were bought on the left bank of the Nistru from persons unknown so far and later sold on the right bank. During the investigation, three test buys were made of an overall value of €6000. According to the prosecutor, only one of the men confessed. If they are found guilty, the trio risks up to 7 years in jail. They are currently under preventive arrest, which was extended with 90 days. The defense lawyers appealed the arrest extension at the Bender Court of Appeals.
