Anticorruption prosecutors carried out searches at two employees of the National Public Security Inspectorate and at a superior of these. The three are suspected of corruption and were arrested for 72 hours. The information was confirmed for IPN by the spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office Mariana Cherpec.

The chief on duty at the Inspectorate is also suspected of unjust enrichment.

“Given that the investigation measures go on, we will not give more details so as not to affect the investigation. When the planned investigation measures are over, we will provide updated information about this case,” stated Mariana Cherpec.

The searches are conducted in concert with officers of the Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
